My current starting LB duo of Wagner and Wright is one of the best in the NFL. Howerver, Wright might not be there 2021 and both are not getting younger. That being said I found this year’s crowd of LBs unimpressive. The only player who I was very excited about was Isaiah Wilson, but there is something about his attitude that doesn’t sit well with me.
I have already mentioned that some of my Safety prospects have the prerequisites to play LB, but here are the few LB alternatives I did like.
Davion Taylor – 3rd – 4th Round
Tough backstory with his mother’s strict religion stopping him from playing football games growing up due to the day and time. Very athletic with speed to be all over the pitch but is still learing the fundamentals in terms of technique. Good wrap up tackler. Green in terms of experience but could be a special teams player early on until development sets in.
Troy Dye – 3rd – 5th Round
Love watching his tape, he plays with high energy and you can see that he is a leader. Known for his football IQ. His main problem may be his weight, but he could be a special teams player until his 2nd season and in that time work with pro personnel on that aspect. Besides that he is sideline to sideline with elite tackle production.
Justin Strnad 5th – 7th Round
High energy, lots of movement, gets to the ball and wraps his man up. Moves through traffic well to get into the backfield. 2019 torn biceps as a red flag and he is not a huge guy who could struggle against bigger backs.
